Anlog is an earthworks and transport company with extensive operations in the Turku region in Finland. In the spring of 2022, the company acquired a Lännen 8800M multipurpose machine to support its diverse range of services.
There was a need for Anlog's first Lännen multipurpose machine, as the company operates extensively in earthworks, transport, and infrastructure maintenance in the Turku region.
Machines are often purchased for a particular purpose. With multipurpose machines, the selection can be made more freely, because they serve a wider range of uses.
In many cases, “the imagination is the only limit,” as someone once put it. This applies very well to Anlog’s first Lännen multipurpose machine, a Lännen 8800M, which the company acquired in the spring of 2022. There was a need for the machine, as the company operates extensively in earthworks, transport, and infrastructure maintenance in the Turku region.
However, practical work has truly shown what the machine is capable of.
By the day of making the story, the machine has had time to do, for example, brushing, asphalt bases, handling earth masses, more traditional excavation work, and of course, there was also snow work to come.
The first year of use
- We used the machine for brushing work in the spring, and it has also been involved in laying the groundwork for paving. Currently, the machine is involved in processing soil masses, shares Jukka Intonen, Foreman at Anlog.
The machine has also been used in more traditional excavation work and will be used for the removal of snow in the winter.
- We have several machines working for the city administration, clearing snow from the center of Turku in the winter, says Intonen.
Anlog’s new Lännen 8800M multipurpose machine was purchased to serve not only current needs but also future needs – including purposes that were not yet known to the company at the time of purchase.
- The attachments also include a grapple for collecting wood for energy generation, which further expands the range of uses of the machine.

It opted for the largest and most powerful model, with a 127 kW engine and 309-liter hydraulics. The 42-degree steering angle of the articulated joint is reliable in the toughest conditions, and the knuckle boom provides additional options for demanding excavator operations.

Incredible ease of control
Sauli Luoto has been operating the new Lännen machine since the spring, and the experience has been pleasant.
- I had no previous experience with this machine type, Luoto recalls.
However, he had used full-rotating machines for a long time, so it was not difficult for him to become familiar with the multipurpose machine.
- Everything went smoothly. After all, this is a very intuitive machine to use, notes Luoto.
Extensive training provided by Lännen Tractors and the instruction and guidance system integrated into the machine made the learning curve easier. When operating the machine, it is easy to check various details by touching the display.
- Even after a break, when I have been using other machines for a long while, it’s easy to get to grips with this Lännen machine, Luoto points out.
- Overall, this is an impressive machine that has been designed with the user in mind.

One machine, many purposes
Most recently, Luoto has been operating the machine on a storage site for soil masses in the area of an old tile factory, where the multipurpose machine was used to prepare and receive loads.
The next task may be something completely different. Sauli Luoto and Jukka Intonen believe that Anlog has only used a small portion of the machine’s potential so far. The winter and the spring will show much more of what the new machine can do and how Anlog’s operational efficiency can be further improved.
They trust the capabilities of the machine, and further experience will generate more ideas about how to use it for various types of work. A multifaceted company needs a multifaceted fleet – and one machine can meet this need.
