Lundberg 60 - The Best of All Time

Multipurpose machines used for environmental management face high demands. Tasks arise year-round, from summer heat to winter cold, regardless of the time or weather. The completely new Lundberg 60 series meets these challenges with usability, efficiency, comfort, and versatility.

The history of Lundberg multipurpose machines dates back to the 1940s when the Lundberg brothers founded their company, Bröderna Lundbergs Mekaniska Verkstad, in Skellefteå, Sweden. After several decades of collaboration with Volvo, the Lundberg company began designing and manufacturing multipurpose machines for environmental management in the late 1970s.

For almost 50 years, Lundberg's core design philosophy for environmental management machines has been to create a compact, agile, safe, and comfortable yet powerful and versatile machine. With these machines, customers have reduced the need for multiple machine types and increased the year-round utilization rate of their equipment fleet. Lundberg machines reduce customers' investment, operating, and maintenance costs, as well as the environmental footprint of their machines.

The Lundberg 50 series was launched in 2019, and in 2022, the range was updated with the much-anticipated 55 series. The brand-new 60 series carries Lundberg's legacy forward while honoring its core values. Our focus was on high user comfort, improved visibility, increased productivity and versatility, and reduced environmental impact. These goals led to the complete design of a new model.

Lundberg 60 series  - made in finland

In spring 2023, Lännen MCE Group decided to move the production of Lundberg multipurpose machines from Skellefteå, Sweden, to Loimaa, Finland, integrating it into LMCE Group's main factory. The demand for Lundberg multipurpose machines has been growing strongly in the Nordic countries in recent years, and the order backlog has reached record levels. Centralizing operations in Loimaa and actively developing the factory has been a response to the growing international and domestic demand.

The 60-series Lundberg has been entirely designed in Finland. Lännen MCE Group's product development department has extensive experience in designing multipurpose work machines. For decades, Lännen multipurpose machines, along with a wide range of accessories and contract-manufactured products, have been designed in Loimaa.

- Loimaa has previously been actively involved in the product development of earlier Lundberg models. The design of a completely new machine began with the design of a new cab but quickly expanded to the renewal of the entire machine, says product development manager Ville Pesonen.

- Design work started in early 2023, and customer feedback and development requests were widely considered in developing the new model. We continued the dialogue with customers throughout the design process, Ville adds.

Customer feedback led to a nearly complete redesign of the machine, allowing us to meet the challenges set for us.

An Even Better Loader

Lundberg's loader is known and appreciated for its numerous excellent features: high lifting height, great lifting capacity at all heights, rigid structure, well-functioning stabilizer, and short reach in front of the front wheel. In the redesign of the loader, we aimed to maintain these features, with the most significant goal being to improve visibility.

- We successfully met these goals with the new loader boom, says designer Ilkka Saha.

The lifting forces, dimensions, and reach of the loader are very similar to previous models. Visibility has significantly improved, with the loader boom now lower and wider. Visibility to both front corners is also excellent.

The stabilizer system is also entirely new. The previously used mechanical stabilizer has been replaced with an electro-hydraulic one, greatly simplifying the loader's structure and making maintenance much easier.

The new stabilizer also enables tool-specific settings in various loader positions.

A CAB DESIGNED WITH THE DRIVER IN MIND

The new cab has been designed with the driver in mind. The glass surfaces are significantly larger and extend lower than before. The door is still fully glass but much wider. The entire cab is also wider, and the space has been used efficiently, as the loader design doesn't require narrowing the cab at the front. The vertical rear window provides more headroom.

Storage space has been increased, and there is ample room for modern work tools like tablets, phones, and control devices.

THE SOFTWARE AND CONTROL SYSTEMS OF THE LUNDBERG 60 SERIES HAVE BEEN UPDATED

With the 60-series, Lundberg is also moving to a new software system. The interface and features of the software are similar to the proven, easy-to-use software in Lännen multipurpose machines. The software is designed specifically for multipurpose machines and is proprietary.

Drivers will have access to even more comprehensive profiles for both driver and tool-specific settings. The display is clearer, and the larger touchscreen enhances ease of use. Functions can also be controlled via a rotary control.

The control devices have been completely updated. The joystick now has more buttons and three rollers instead of two, allowing functions to be better centralized. Adjusting the functions of both the armrest buttons and the joystick is easier and more intuitive.

The steering wheel and column are also new. This new solution has allowed for a slimmer, lower dashboard.

The lower engine cover provides more options for installing work tools.

The power source remains the same Deutz engine. The exhaust after-treatment system has been redesigned, allowing for a significantly lower engine cover. The approximately 25 cm lower engine cover enables more versatile installation of work tools without changing the overall height of the machine. Rear visibility has also improved considerably.

Other Updates

With the new model, the range of options has also been updated. In addition to familiar accessories, new features such as RFID-based work tool recognition are available, which can be added to existing work tools. The tool recognition system enables automatic switching of work tool profiles, eliminating the need for the operator to change settings manually when switching tasks.

EASE OF MAINTENANCE AND SAFE OWNERSHIP OF THE multipurpose MACHINE

The new series is even easier to maintain for regular service points, and advanced diagnostics help identify maintenance and repair needs.

A wide service network of trained partners, along with the factory's comprehensive spare parts inventory and support, are available to our customers.

The long life cycle of the machine and its good resale and trade-in value make Lundberg a productive and economical choice, as well as a safe investment for the future.
